Jose Bienvenu Gallery is seeking students and recent grads in Art History and Arts Administration interested in including an internship as a part of their studies. We are looking for interns who can commit 3 days a week, for a minimum of 3 months. To start immediately.Applicants should be organized and professional, detail oriented, have knowledge of Mac computers and be interested in contemporary art. Interns will learn all aspects of gallery administration and work closely with the gallery director and owner. Your responsibilities will include but will not be limited to assisting with:- updating Gallery Manager inventory system- updating the Gallery Manager iPad (archives and available works)- photography, updating image archives, and Photoshop editing- exhibition and art fair preparation (preparing price lists, press releases, coordinating artwork deliveries)- marketing and PR (website, social media, Mail Chimp mass emails)- event planning (tracking RSVPs, contact research)- special events (additional dates for art fairs and hours for exhibition reception openings)- assisting artists and clients- light art handling and errands to artist and framing studios- answering phones and taking messages- keeping the gallery clean and organized, ordering suppliesThis is an unpaid internship. Lunch or travel will be reimbursed.
