Summary
Reporting to the Creative Director, the Graphic Designer translates marketing objectives into creative designs. The Graphic Designer is collaborative, self-motivated, organized, timely, efficient and resourceful with outstanding design and interpersonal skills.

Essential Functions
The following list of duties is meant to be representative of the work performed in this position. The omission of a specific duty or responsibility will not preclude it from the position if the work is similar, related or a logical extension of position responsibilities.

•Be an active participant of the Marketing and Communication team on the planning and execution of departmental and campus wide initiatives
•Demonstrate high-level design skills and creativity to support the brand
•Collaborate with staff, faculty and students to find the best solutions for their design needs
•Demonstrate experience with the design development process from initial client consultation to concept creation, integration, final delivery and post project assessment
•Make decisions on a daily basis that ensure both cost effectiveness and quality
•Prepare job estimates
•Ensure quality of creative timeliness and work within budgets
•When necessary work with outside resources including vendors and printers
•Help foster a creative environment that is conducive to collaboration across campus
•Help manage quality control and brand consistency, including proofing, creative output and project processes
•Maintain knowledge of marketing trends and best practices
•Help maintain archive of design projects and photography
•Ability to complete projects in a timely and accurate manner while working in a fast-paced environment.


Qualifications
•Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Communication or Media Arts related field, required
•2 - 5 years of graphic design experience, preferred (preferably in an in-house agency and/or college environment), with the ability to provide a comprehensive portfolio of previous work
•Intercultural competency; ability to work well with individuals of diverse backgrounds.
•Mac skills, required; must be proficient in Adobe Creative Suite software
•Strong skills in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
•Exceptional aesthetic sense, understanding of design principles, knowledge of layouts, typography and limitations of the web
•Ability to develop and maintain collaborative working relationships, engage in creative problem-solving, and extend enlightened hospitality when working with others.
•Strong project management and time management skills
