Sales Associate for International gallery in Chelsea as of Jan 2017
Our international, boutique gallery based in Chelsea is seeking as of January 2017 an experiences sales person who is a responsible team player with high energy, enthusiasm and a positive attitude with proven sales experience with the ability to close sales. The candidate must have an existing client base to help us grow our portfolio of collectors, and be creative and tenacious in developing new sales channels. Who you are: A confident speaker who has the ability to problem solve, is also a great team player with a sense of humour! Knowledge of multiple languages is a plus. (Chinese in particular)The successful candidate will have 3-5 years art sales experience in New York City and preferably a Bachelors Degree in Fine Art or related field. We are looking for a strong character who is charming, approachable, knowledgeable and have a professional image. A self-starter who is interested to work independently, has a strong work ethic and is creative in developing new sales channels. Is interested to travel overseas for art fairs. Responsibilities: - Establish sales strategies and growth for both primary and secondary market- Prepare offers and sales materials- Develop vigorous outreach to clients, including using social media platforms, including Pinterest, Instagram and Facebook, to generate new leads, engage with collectors, and contribute new content. -Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing collectors, dealers and museums-Interact with collectors and the public as a representative of the gallery - Compile, follow up and continually add to a list of potential sales leads. -Manage and oversee all aspects of the sales you close (shipping and crating)-Process, enter, and track records for artworks, shipping, exhibitions, catalogues, invoices, and condition reportsQUALIFICATIONS + Requirements: Candidate should have a minimum of 3 years gallery experience with additional 2 years sales experience with a proven sales track record. - Knowledge of the art business world.- Familiarity with Artsy and Artnet- Must have the ability to drive business, bring in new clientele and close sales. - Excellent interpersonal skills--ability to proactively seek and reach out to collectors, build network and cement relationships with clients. *Potential opportunity to grow from this position, and travel between galleries as the company expands. SALARY: Position is full time (5 days a week, Tues-Saturday, Monday-Friday (floating Saturdays and Mondays). This is a full-time position with base salary and sales commission. Salary commensurate with experience.
