The in-between

A series of oil portrait paintings exploring the human condition. These paintings were made shortly after the death of a loved one and the project was funded by the Arts Council England to help with my development as an artist. I tried to focus on atmosphere first and a realistic representation second. I was inspired by painters Henrik Udalen and Alex Kanevsky, who merge surreal and figurative pieces.
