Haptic Sensation - The emotional sensation produced by the touch of physical objects.

‘Haptic Sensation’ aims at articulating the vital importance of physical objects, and the sense of touch in an era of virtual culture. Cutting and deforming books would seem a carless and unacceptable act. However, deconstruction, in books and in knitwear, highlight the emotional response, we have to objects, which are not simply useful, but have intrinsic physical qualities, which can be appreciated in their own right. Knitwear focuses on yarns, comfort, quality and touch, arising out of research based very much in the physical world rather than the internet.

Technological findings show that some maps and charts are being created to incorporate data, and to physically display it visually. The omnipresence of technology has given us the ability to store our lives as data. We have become more dependent on technology, as we browse the internet every day for inspiration, the public rely and absorb imagery more quickly. This research has formed an intricate line ethos, which embraces the texture and structural form of knit.
