- About -

Accomplished and dynamic scholar with a passion for teaching. I'm a motivated leader with strong organizational and prioritization abilities. It has always been my dream to work in a museum whether that would be in art, historical, or science museum. The reason I love museums is that it allows me to pursue another passion of my which is to teach. Museums are a great way to engage with curious minds on a level that can go beyond the classroom setting. As the philosopher, Edmund Husserl once said, “Natural objects must be experienced before any theorizing about them can occur.” I believe this to be true when it comes to the mission of museums as they try to reach out to their constituents. After all, not everyone can go to Mars, but museums can try to bridge that gap the best they can. I am a person who loves to be intellectually stimulated and challenged on a daily basis. Even though I do not possess much professional experience, I do possess the passion, drive, and determination to accomplish any task put to me. I know this to be true because I worked tremendously hard to receive my B.A. in Art History and my M.A. in Comparative Humanities on a merit scholarship and maintained an average of 3.6 GPA. Also, I worked immensely hard in extra curricular activities to make various campus programs successful. For instance, when Medieval Club was restated, the president and I were trying to come up with a way to attract students to our organization. I came up with the idea to do a Monty Python Medieval Scavenger Hunt that would take place across campus, and the grand prize would be tickets to Medieval Times. After a crazy week of planning, the event went off without a hitch. Another instance was when I was helping the Women’s Interest Network to plan a budget to bring in Carol Adam to the SMU campus. The event was for Carol Adam to do a presentation of her book The Sexual Politics of Meat. I planned a budget that would accommodate her coming to the campus; while also designing the event flyers and t-shirts, delegating with the Women’s and Gender Studies department and student council, and coordinating with local Dallas vegan restaurant and shops in regards to refreshments. p.p1 {margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; font: 11.0px Helvetica}
