Mask Making Course

​Make your own mask from the new wonder material - Worbla. ​These courses are aimed at performers, makers, teachers and Cosplayers to enable participants to create a strong and effective mask without specialist equipment. 

 

​Led by Russell Dean, Artistic Director of Strangeface and mask maker for Vamos, Trestle and Geese Theatre Company. Russell has also made masks and puppets that featured on BBC, ITV, Channel 4, Ben and Holly Live and Billy Elliot.

 

Participants will learn: 

  • What makes a good mask
  • How to sculpt in clay
  • How to take a plaster mould
  • How to use Worbla
  • Effective paint techniques

On the final day they will explore the potential of the masks in performance.

  • Monday 24th to Wednesday 26th July 2017
  • Wednesday 16th to Friday 18th August 2017
