Tanya Leighton seeks an experienced Project Manager to oversee the smooth and efficient operation of the gallery exhibition programme, art fairs and off-site projects. A successful candidate will speak both English and German fluently and have experience of working in a fast-moving gallery environment. Reporting to the Directors, they will fulfill a key role supervising all projects as part of a busy team of full and part-time staff.

Candidate specifications:

•  Minimum of 4 years experience working as a Project Manager or similar position in a fine arts context.

•  A comprehensive understanding of the parameters of working in a commercial gallery.

•  Ability to support team members and artists in all areas of the production, exhibition and promotion of exhibitions and projects.

•  Proven ability to work to tight deadlines and budgets.

•  A sharp sensibility for layout and design.

•  Excellent organisational skills with meticulous attention to detail.

•  Proven experience of staff management.

•  Confidence to delegate tasks and supervise their progress and timely completion.

•  Confident self-motivated independent worker.

•  Experience with digital and print publishing preferred.

•  Excellent written, editing and presentation skills in both English and German.

•  Proficiency with Mac operating systems, Microsoft Office, Adobe Photoshop and InDesign.

•  Experience of managing a website CMS and cloud-based database system.

•  Fast learner able to pick-up the operation of new systems in an efficient and timely manner.

•  Smartly presented with a polite and positive demeanour

 The Project Manager will work closely with the Directors, Registrar, Finance Manager, Technician and Gallery Assistants.

 

Tasks and Responsibilities:

•  Manage all Gallery exhibition and publication projects, both in Berlin and off-site.

•  Liaise with Directors and exhibiting artists towards the smooth delivery of a highly successful exhibition and events programme.

•  Assisting Directors to develop client relations and sales.

•  Provide general assistance to the Directors.

•  Collation of presentation documents and files.

•  Undertake and supervise any necessary research required.

•  Content management of the website and social media channels.

•  Uphold the gallery standards in all communications, both internal and external.

•  Support all other members of the team as required.
