New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) seeks to appoint an Associate Producer, reporting to the Director of Artistic Planning.

The Associate Producer will be resourceful, adept in a fast-paced environment, and able to work nimbly with artists, technicians, administrators, vendors, faculty and students. The ideal candidate will be someone with exceptional attention to detail while executing multiple projects on overlapping as well as different timelines. They will have strong interpersonal and intercultural skills to work with diverse constituencies in overseeing the execution of The Arts Center’s public programs.

The Associate Producer will work closely with all Arts Center departments, to realize the Executive Artistic Director’s programming vision and ensure that events at The Arts Center at NYU Abu Dhabi represent the core values of excellence, collaboration, creativity, accessibility, innovation, respect, and understanding. The Associate Producer will also work in close partnership with the Director of External Relations and Partnerships, NYUAD  faculty, and the Student Life department as needed to insure that student productions, university presentations, and events are given the same professional attention as visiting artists. The Associate Producer shall also work in collaboration with rental clients and partner events, from UAE government agencies to embassies to corporate clients to other arts organizations as needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work in collaboration with the Director of Artistic Planning, creating and adhering to agreed communication systems and escalation procedures
  • Manage / execute Arts Center residencies, stand-alone events and other initiatives. Track and monitor the budgets for programs in collaboration with the Director of Artistic Planning
  • Ensure that artist schedules and timelines are on track in communication with artists, creative team members, and production staff.  Provide clear communication to supervisors when any deviations arise which may impact the projects
  • In collaboration with Director of External Relations and Partnerships, ensure successful execution of outreach and educational activities, master classes, workshops as needed
  • Liaise with other departments (marketing, finance, house management, etc.) to disseminate necessary information pertaining to upcoming productions
  • Other duties as assigned. Schedule to be flexible based on artists and event schedules. Weekends and evening work shall be required
  • Event producing activities and responsibilities not limited to but including
  • Executing  a global schedule to include any and all rehearsals, technical calls (in collaboration with the Director of Artistic planning and  director of production), as well as performances and outreach/audience engagement/educational events
  • Manage catering (for artist/ clients/ crew plus any outward facing events), which may include some carrying of equipment and materials, set-up and clean-up
  • Manage transportation, visa, Marketing PR requests for artists in collaboration with the administrative and marketing teams
  • Coordinating access including assessing dressing room, green rooms, ID badges, etc
  • Serve as point person during residencies, accountable for logistics of artist events as well as problem solving on the artist/client’s behalf as necessary, including evenings and weekends
  • Will work in collaboration and communication with and under the supervision of  the Director of Artistic Planning
  • Assist in communication for all elements of the event including Director of Production and  technical team, FOH, outreach office (for Q and A and pre-show talks), financial reconciliation, etc, working in conjunction with The Arts Center teams
  • Liaise with facilities to clean and restore of artist facilities to normal condition
  • Communication any/all documentation requests with in-house Marketing, FOH, and technical team to ensure proper protocols and technical safety
