Deputy Chief Electrician (Programmer Bias)

The Donmar Warehouse, one of London’s leading subsidised theatres, is looking to recruit a Deputy Chief Electrician to join their busy team. The Donmar is undergoing an exciting period of change with a new Executive team (Michael Longhurst, Artistic Director Designate beginning as Artistic Director (AD) in March 2019 and Henny Finch, Executive Producer (EP) beginning January 2019).

The Deputy Chief Electrician will be an integral part of the busy Electrics Department. This is a key role in the venue and a great opportunity for candidates who wish to develop their skills whilst working in a creative and vibrant producing house. We are looking for a dedicated and dynamic individual with experience in programming, a keen eye for detail and an aptitude for problem solving.

Main Purpose

To support the Chief Electrician in the safe and efficient running of all performances and related activities within the Donmar. To work closely with key members of the Donmar team including lighting designers to programme the lighting for all Donmar shows. To work alongside the Chief Electrician to support and maintain building systems and machinery in accordance with agreed schedules and budgets. To deputise for the Chief Electrician and operate shows as required.
