narrative projects is a contemporary art gallery presenting an international, cross-disciplinary programme with a particular focus on conceptual work. We are looking for a gallery manager to join our small team and take care of the gallery operations. Previous experience in a similar role or internship in a gallery is required; an art history, art management, or a curating MA is a plus. It is a part time role 2 days per week. The main responsibilities will include:
- ensure the smooth running of the gallery
- coordinate shows in cooperation with artists and technicians
- maintain ongoing promotion and advertising of the gallery
- liaise with framers
- arrange transportation of work to and from the gallery, both nationally and internationally
- organise equipment hire and ensure correct installation of the artwork
Skills required:
- excellent organisational ability and attention to details
- strong written and oral communication skills and the ability and confidence to deal with a range of people, teamworking skills
- a flexible and practical approach
- a genuine interest in and enthusiasm for contemporary art
- administrative and IT skills, experience of Photoshop and Artlogic database management
- basic skills for setting up exhibitions
