Dellasposa Gallery seeks an enthusiastic intern to assist with all aspects of the daily running of the gallery. The candidate will be expected to carry out general duties to ensure the gallery is running as efficiently as possible. The role is very hands-on as the candidate will be working closely with the Directors, providing administrative support across the gallery.  This is a voluntary internship where expenses are covered and bonuses rewarded.

 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Welcoming clients and visitors to the gallery, and dealing with client inquiries as appropriate

• Assisting at openings and other events

• Fine art research and art market analysis 

• Assisting with website, inventory system, and online platforms

• General administration support

 

Desired skills and experience: 

Educated to degree level – academic background in the history of art is desirable. 

Exceptional English language skills – phone calls and speaking with customers, booking appointments and writing emails are necessary. Every bit of correspondence is a reflection of our business. 

Proactive – candidate must be keen to learn everything about our business and can act upon new situations and information without input. A quick thinker with a good work ethic will be of the most value. 

Organisation – candidate must be able to prioritise tasks and have an organised filing system for continued effective work for the gallery. 

Adaptable – Successful candidate should be responsive to changing responsibilities and tasks according to business needs. 

 

The ideal candidate must have a strong eye for detail and professional and enthusiastic in their approach to any tasks given. The role also demands the candidate to be able to work efficiently within a team and also independently, using one's own initiative when necessary. 

As part of a small team, we are looking for enthusiastic, motivated people who have a passion to learn. Each intern defines his or her own path, whereby they are able to build specific skills and knowledge to foster the gallery’s goals. The position requires a minimum of two-three days per week and will include additional hours for openings and events.  

 

We are looking for candidates to start part-time, for a period of three to six months, with immediate start. This is a voluntary internship where expenses are covered and bonuses rewarded.
