We are looking for part-time (2/3 days per week) in-house print/textile designers to join our team at Mr. Grieves Originals. This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a friendly, passionate and fast paced environment.
Mr. Grieves Originals is a textile design studio specializing in weaving and print design across the fashion, accessories and interiors market. We are unique to market as a (mainly) menswear focused studio. We develop seasonal collections that are shown internationally at trade shows and on appointment. We also design directly into brands collections. We are based in Shoreditch, London. MGO is proud of its international reputation for creative and commercial design.
We are looking for highly creative individuals to work in our studio. You must be educated to degree level in a design discipline, have at least 5 years relevant experience with proven commercial acumen. You will have a good understanding of print for menswear and deliver original artwork for both our in-house collection and responding to client/brand briefs. You need to independently research seasonal trends/colour/techniques and have grounded trend/textiles knowledge. MGO has a varied client list therefore a versatile handwriting is required. Along with your print design expertise, you need to be driven, confident working at pace and able to ensure print deadlines are met, in accordance with the collection calendar.
Previous experience working under pressure in a time sensitive environment desirable
Able to time manage and multi-task with competing demands and meet deadlines
Discrete, confidential and reliable
Able to work effectively as a team and individually with a positive attitude to your work
Be highly skilled in using Adobe packages
Provide prints in full repeat, colour separate, layers and recolour
You will be able to hand draw and paint - ability in freehand sketching and designing
Excellent organisational and communication skills
A good eye for detail, presentation, composition, scale and colour
Excellent spoken and written English
Full UK work visa essential
Salary/day rate negotiable depending on experience
