No task too small, no dream too large.

Rankin Photography and Hunger Publishing are looking for Studio Assistants to support our busy teams. This opportunity is pitched at internship level and is a genuine opportunity to get involved in and gain experience in the studio aspects of our business.

The role is designed specifically to support those who have a genuine and demonstrable passion for photography and/or film, but who have little professional experience or may not have had an opportunity to work professionally within these areas before.

The role is for 6 months and is paid Above National Living Wage (40 hours per week). As such you need to hold the right to work in the UK. We also require you to be flexible and available to work weekends when necessary.

Although no employment is guaranteed all assistants who successfully complete the six months having proven they have the right aptitude will be kept in contact with regarding future opportunities. Typically talented assistants are invited to join our Studio, Photographic, and Film teams in trainee and junior roles.

Ultimately, as with any opportunity, the more you put into the role the more you will get back.

The ideal candidate will be a film production or photography graduate who is hard working, a quick learner, conscientious and willing to get involved in a variety of tasks typical to a Runner across both the studio and the larger business.

A qualification in photography or film is not necessary, though some knowledge of photography, lighting, studio equipment, film production, post production and software would be highly beneficial.  What is more important is a can-do attitude and a strong drive for a career in the photo or film industry.

This is a varied and ‘hands on’ role, which requires an extremely organised, level-headed and positive person, comfortable in a busy and demanding studio environment.

Reporting to the Studio Manager, Studio Assistants will typically:

  • Prepare and maintain the studio, including Styling, Kitchen and Studio to a high standard.
  • Maintain a clean and tidy workplace throughout the day.
  • Return studio to a high standard at the end of each shoot.
  • Assist the production teams on and off set.

Essential Requirements:

  • Full drivers licence and confident driving in London
  • Demonstrable passion for photography and/or film
  • Demonstrable respect for our brand
  • Can do positive attitude – ready to muck in
  • Energy and drive to succeed

Desirable Requirements:

  • Successful completion of a related degree

If you are able to stay smiling and go the extra mile at the end of long day then we’d like to hear from you.
