Gallery Assistant

Gallery assistant required to work in a bright inspiring gallery with an ethos of making the best of art accessible to all.

The job entails serving customers and welcoming them into the space, learning about the artists and art and being able to interact with customers confidently. Assisting with admin work so basic IT skills are required.

Working as part of a small team and possessing good initiative skills.

Exhibitions will require the ability to lift moderate weights and be prepared to work longer hours including evenings for show openings.

Keeping the gallery clean and shining, with cleaning duties daily.

One of the most important attributes for this position is a sunny disposition and a friendly and charming manner plus of course a love of art.

Part time position, minimum 3 days a week

Hourly Rate: £8.21

Spring and autumn: 10.30 - 5 pm

High season: 10.00-5.30

Weekend working and bank holiday working are expected and part of the normal hours.

Studies Art or worked / volunteered in an Art environment
