The Palace Theatre & Opera House are stunning large scale historic theatres located at the heart of Manchester city centre. Between them they host 650 performances each year from leading UK and international producers bringing spectacular West End and Broadway shows to the North West alongside drama, classical and contemporary dance, live music, comedy and one night specials. We work increasingly in partnership with producers to open or launch new tours and strive to build partnerships with Manchester based arts companies, producers and local communities.

The Deputy General Manager is integral to the day to day operation of the Opera House, reporting directly to the General Manager. The DGM contributes to financial and operational management, plays a leading role in Risk and Health & Safety working closely with all teams. The role supports both the General Manager and Theatre Manager in achieving continued growth and success for the ATG Manchester Theatres.  

The ideal candidate will be an experienced administrator with a background in the theatre, entertainment or leisure business looking for a new challenge in a busy, dynamic venue.  Attention to detail, a positive ‘can do’ approach, excellent numeracy and communication skills are a must. The Deputy General Manager will also act as Duty Manager so previous customer experience will be required as well as being prepared to work some evenings and weekends.
