Marketing Manager Job Description

Job Purpose

To devise and implement marketing campaigns for a wide variety of shows across Norwell Lapley’s portfolio of Productions, and to liaise with the tour venues to implement and maximise the shows performance.

Background

Norwell Lapley Productions Ltd has been producing and promoting shows for over 20 years and has offices in Tenbury wells, Worcestershire and Covent Garden London.

Most of their work consists of ‘spoken word’ Productions and children’s shows.

Recently they have produced Dear Zoo, Dear Santa, Doctor Michael Moseley’s ‘Trust Fast Health’ Tour, Neil Oliver’s ‘History of Britain in 100 Places’, Janey Godley ‘Beyond the Fringe’

Main Duties

This role will report to the General Manager. Main duties include:

• Devising and implementing marketing campaigns and managing budgets,

 across a wide range of genres and venue capacities.

• Acting as the main in-house marketing liaison for all touring venues.

• Leading on the production of all print and media assets, brochures, flyers, posters, print and online adverts.

• Work with the General Manager to identify and fulfil all branding and

promotional opportunities, and act as a brand guardian for our productions

• Implementing the Digital Marketing and monitoring the content

management of the company’s website and show sites, social media and e-marketing

campaigns.

• Writing design briefs and working regularly with freelance designers,

photographers and filmmakers.

• Working closely with external PR agents.

• Keeping up to date with current marketing and digital trends and

suggesting new ideas.

• Administrative or other marketing support to assist with the efficient

running of the department, as and when required.

Personal Specification

Essential Criteria

- Demonstrable experience of managing large- and small-scale marketing budgets

and campaign planning.

- Experience of print production and distribution, media planning and direct

marketing.

- Excellent communication and relationship management skills.

- Experience of briefing and working with designers, photographers and

filmmakers.

- Excellent copy writing and proofreading skills, and a keen eye for detail.

- Demonstrable experience of using social media in a professional and/or

promotional capacity.

- A good standard of computer literacy including the use of PCs, Macs, Microsoft

Word and Microsoft Excel.

- An ability to work to deadlines, and to plan and prioritise short and long-term

tasks effectively.

- The ability to work independently and as part of a larger team.

- A good sense of humour and a proactive, positive attitude.

- A highly organised and reliable approach to work.

Desirable Criteria

- Experience of working in an arts, entertainment, Theatre and/or events

environment.

- Experience of using website content management systems.

- A working knowledge of design packages such as Photoshop and InDesign.

- A passion for working in the ‘Live’ show environment.

Terms of employment

- The salary for the Marketing Manager will be circa £25,000, depending on

experience.

- This is a permanent, full-time role, based in the companies Tenbury Wells office.

- The role may also involve further UK travel from time to time.

- The role will be subject to a six-month probationary period.

- Our normal office hours are 9.30am - 6pm, Monday to Friday. There will be some evening and

weekend work required occasionally visiting shows on the road.

- Annual holiday entitlement of 21 days, rising to 25 days after a year.

- To start as soon as possible.
