We are looking for a full-time Inventory Coordinator to join our Los Angeles based Operations Department. This role will be responsible for managing inventory clearance by expediting collection of abandoned property, as well as ensuring that inventory records are accurate. Acting as a crew member when necessary this role will also fulfill all responsibilities of that position when required.

Key tasks include, but are not limited to:
• Define and manage inventory control process for new initiatives/projects relating to clearing delinquent stock; such as contacting clients regarding items marked for clearance, managing CITES property, return of property for deceased client and unknown owner
• Identify and deliver continued process improvement across Inventory Control activities
• Liaise with key stakeholders within the business to coordinate collection of items
• Liaise with Specialist departments to confirm re-valuation for items marked for clearance and arrange movement of stock accordingly
• Work closely with Client Services to arrange payment for any unsettled charges and complex client queries outside of clearance process
• Keep detailed & accurate statistics on client contact & other tasks involved in the project, while providing regular reports to line manager
• Comply at all times with Bonhams policies on data protection & client confidentiality, and client service standards
• Other tasks & projects as assigned by line manager

In your role as Crew Member you will be required to carry out the following:
General Operations:
• Receive incoming shipments by checking condition and moving property to safe storage locations while maintaining barcode scanning procedures
• Unload/load trucks while maintaining proper paperwork & inventory procedures
• Unpack & pack fragile items carefully while maintaining proper inventory procedures
• Assist photographers by preparing and moving property onto and off of photo sets, returning property to warehouse inventory locations
• Assist customers with pick-up and delivery of items while maintaining proper inventory and release procedures ensuring correct and complete deliveries.
• Maintain company security procedures and standard operating procedures, as well as warehouse inventory standards
• Maintain forklift and other moving equipment, and safely move and store display equipment

Previews:
• Set up - move wall panels, display cases & pedestals and setup property (furniture, rugs, paintings, etc.) for gallery quality presentations
• Adjust lights

Qualifications:
• 1-year experience handling fine art or antique furniture desired
• Excellent IT skills; in particular with Microsoft Office applications
• Exceptional organization and communication skills, and ability to work with a variety of personalities
• Ability to perform physical tasks including: lifting, pushing, pulling items using proper lifting/moving techniques – minimum weight lifting capability of 40 lbs
• Ability to utilize appropriate lifting and moving equipment (i.e., pallet jack, hand truck, etc.)
• Forklift certification or ability to pass a forklift certification
• Ability to work overtime, as required, to meet auction schedule deadlines
