Ann Kendall Richards, Inc., an Upper East Side private art dealer founded in 1969, is looking to hire a part-time or full-time gallery assistant, depending on availability.

Ann Kendall Richards, Inc. maintains an inventory of 19th and 20th century and contemporary masterworks including paintings, drawings, sculptures, and prints. AKR, Inc. also assists clients in the sale, purchase, and appraisal of artworks and objects privately and through auction. The firm further advises clients in matters of framing, restoration, and lighting of artworks.

The primary responsibility of the gallery assistant is to provide support to the director and owner of the company. Duties include but are not limited to: managing database and inventory, maintaining online presence, organizing exhibitions and other events, researching artworks to offer to clients, answering phones and emails, managing office, and assisting art handler with shipping, deliveries, and installations of artworks.

Requirements:

- BA/BS from an accredited institution

- Strong organization and communication skills

- Computer savvy (proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe PDF, Outlook, Social Media Platforms, and iPhone interface)

- Polished and professional appearance

- Knowledge in French preferred but not required
