Growing Research Hub Seeks Technology Junior Research Assistant

The Marks Project, Inc. (TMP) is looking for a technology-savvy paid junior research assistant for an 6 week part time training period in preparation for fultime staff position working independently within a small collaborative group. We are looking for a team member who will learn website quality control, become familiar with documented artists, research tools and approaches, the mission and ethics of TMP. The right applicant will have the ability to move quickly into research assistant position, adapt to different research project responsibilities from analyzing, organizing and dispersing incoming data to ultimately publishing content on our website. Applicant must be able to field technology questions and develop technology protocols as needed.

TMP is dedicated to young scholars and developing talent, it is looking for an applicant who is enthusiastic and interested in building the skillset needed to create solutions to TMP’s daily challenges. The applicant will assist the Database and Work Flow Manager. Preference is given to ceramists and those with an interest in the history of Decorative Arts, acquiring knowledge of American post-war ceramics as well as its technical aspects and terminology.

The Marks Project, Inc. documents post-war American studio and contemporary ceramists, their work and marks on its website.

Applicant should have:

• Minimum 4 year degree: Art history, History of Decorative Arts, library science, database management and/or ceramics.

• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, database management, and cloud storage with an ability to develop research resources. Expertise in Microsoft Excel or other workflow programs is important.

• Excellent work habits and time management skills.

• Work from home within 90-minute drive of Riverside, CT, Westerly, RI or Springfield,MA.

• Applicant must provide own secure high-speed internet access.
