Description

This is a part time arts management job and will initially run from October 2017 to January 2018 with a discussion about continuing on in the new year based on work achieved during the autumn.

The Improvisers' Choir, artistic director Jenni Roditi, formed in September 2015 has received two Grants for the Arts (3K and 10K) since then. We want to build on the great work achieved so far.

The two previous ACE applications can be used as a guide as to how to apply for a third time. The choir will be rehearsing and gigging, plus expanding the project through collaborations and including, for the first time, a composition-improvisation strand lead by the AD.

We have done 11 gigs in 18 months and all artists (between 5 and 11 per event) were all paid for all rehearsals and performances. This plan was set out in the ACE applications and will be similar for the next application.

There is a reserve fund available from which to pay you for the application process to ACE to be undertaken. Current plans are to work with an Artist Development Producer, making a studio recording, an original Christmas song which includes improvisation and new gig dates in Camden and Shoreditch. There is also an educational project with underprivileged youth in the pipeline.

The work is paid on a hourly basis, 15ph. 8 12 hours a week. Your job will be expanded and paid for through the grant, going forward, if we are successful. We look forward to collaborating with a highly experienced person.

The application will also include a line of funding for additional members of the management team needed as the project grows.

TIC has a sister choir TOC The Open Choir which uses the same artistic approach. TOC members pay to be in the choir. TOC has performed 7 gigs between March 2016 and June 2017.

Interviews: 29th and 30th September in Crouch End.
CV, statement of interest, and, if called for interview, two references.
