The Global Fine Art Awards program (GFAA) seeks one or more Marketing and Communications Interns. Interns are an integral part of our global team – whose dedicated and passionate members are from over twenty countries around the world.

GFAA offers the opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience working directly with the President in a dynamic and exciting arts organization. The GFAA program touches the top museums, galleries and arts institutions around the globe. All GFAA interns are trained to develop invaluable skills in fine art, strategy and event management.

Additional benefits of the internship: applied experience in research and outreach; an understanding of high-level art world current activity; the opportunity to contribute to GFAA’s core digital and traditional marketing and communications strategies and execution.

Internship responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Contribute to the planning and execution of GFAA marketing initiatives:

  • Create and distribute digital / email messaging to our Nominees, Cultural Partners, Corporate Sponsors and prospects
  • Develop Social Media efforts to grow audiences and track results; manage website content updates
  • Support Public Relations outreach and tracking
  • Assist with pre-event planning and logistics, day-of-event onsite work and planning.

Special Projects as assigned

 

Requirements:

0-2+ years of experience in similar role

Operational familiarity with social media platforms and audience development

Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Vimeo, MailChimp, Google; word press (preferred) Adobe Creative Suite /Photoshop and InDesign (preferred)

Interest in and knowledge of fine art

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Able to work remotely, efficiently, accurately, and collaboratively

 

Desired Experience / Qualifications:

Public relations, AV/Tech, marketing, and/or journalism

Planning, promoting and executing events

Photo/video documentation of live events

Knowledge of the art world; previous experience in a museum, auction house or gallery is helpful

 

Start Date: September 1, 2018

Interns must be able to commit to a schedule of 2-3 days per week for a minimum 3-month period, for a minimum of 15 hours per week. Flexible schedule and work from home environment, with occasional team meetings and events.
