Job Title – Senior Fashion Designer

General Responsibilities:

The senior fashion designer is responsible for developing innovative designs, anticipating and identifying trends and translating into meaningful product across all Goodbaby/Evenflo categories supported by textile utilization. Able to quickly respond to business objectives with creative design solutions, the Senior Designer develops collaborative relationships with Retailer trend/buying departments, influencing outcomes that will benefit Goodbaby/Evenflo and the Retailer’s best interest. Some domestic and international travel required (approximately 10%).

Examples of Typical Activities:

Fashion Fabric Selection – Create, select and achieve a large fashion fabric base to support our customer base.
Provide fashion trend analysis, renderings, fashion presentation boards and sample selections to both internal and external customers.
Fashion Analysis with Sales and Marketing to identify fashion fabric needs by account and platform.
Fashion merchandise product to achieve aesthetic goals of Marketing/Sales.
Collaborate with Marketing, Softgoods, and Oversea Operations to develop appropriate Fashion timelines.
Provide Softgoods and Oversea Operations with written work orders for sample execution.
Sustain cost guidelines on each platform.
Set annual trend guides for new product development

Required Experience

BS or BFA Degree in Textile, Fashion or Interior Design required; a minimum of 4-6 years of progressively responsible design and/or fashion experience

Required Technical Competencies

Working knowledge of global fabrics, textures and designs.
Textile knowledge
Understands the various types of fabrics (yarns, woven, prints, base cloths, etc.)
Experience creating designs for fabric; ability to generate CAD designs
Sewing experience and knowledge
Understands, and is mindful of, construction in manufacturing environments; capable sewer
Understands basic Marketing concepts.
Ability to visualize
Ability to understand the buyer and marketplace and create fashion to meet & exceeds the customer expectations.
Proficient Computer Skills.
MS Office Suite: Outlook, Powerpoint, Excel, Word
Adobe CC: Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign
Keyshot (optional)
Excellent Verbal and Written Communication Skills – persuasive yet tactful, credible and professional presence
