Age of Anxiety

Digital paintings on brass and aluminum

An Age of Anxiety breaks our routines, disrupts our certainties, unlinks our roots and upsets our carefully laid plans. Familiar patterns are lost and the red of anger fills our daily lives.  These images are meant to shake us out of our placid acceptance of what once was, and wake us up to the inequalities, insufficiences, and outrages that now define our age.

Whitaker is a 36-year veteran of all things digital and a pioneer in the development of a digital language to reflect the new iconography of the digital era. She has exhibited worldwide in over 300 shows and is the author of 22 books of digital paintings and poetry.
