Lucid

I was inspired to paint this by everything that's been happening politically and socially within the last three years. The election, police brutality, racism,
the #metoo movement, net neutrality, terrorism, bigotry, bullying, hurricanes, earthquakes, forest fires, and the list goes on. I wondered how do we witness so much negativity and catastrophe without becoming cynical and pessimistic. Having a woman be at the center of all the devastation is a way of acknowledging how powerful women are. It also symbolizes how women have really taken the lead in creating safer spaces for all people in the last two years.
