Winter Writers Retreat 2022

Overview

The Winter Writers Retreat is a self-directed program that offers time and space for writers to retreat, reconnect, and re-energize their writing practice. In addition to a single room, a personal studio space to work from is provided and available 24 hours a day, and you will be surrounded by a community of artistic peers.

What does the program offer?

The program provides opportunities for consultations with guest mentors, and optional group sessions led by guest mentors that allow writers to explore literary tools, aspects, and devices that you may find useful in your practice.

This 14-day residency provides thematic teaching from faculty members, Q&A sessions, and one-on-one workshopping.

Performing Arts Creation Lab - Winter 2022 | In Person

Overview

Creation Lab residencies are designed for performing artists and companies worldwide to develop their new work in one or more Banff Centre studio spaces on the land of Sacred Buffalo Guardian Mountain. Creation Lab is a partnered initiative of Performing Arts and Indigenous Arts at Banff Centre.

In a collegial campus atmosphere of like-minded artists working in and across a range of disciplines, artists are encouraged this season to propose self-sufficient projects that require no in-studio technical labour or equipment support from Banff Centre staff beyond essential room set-up. Companies are encouraged to travel with all personnel required to handle the work.
