Earthed

Overview

Earthed explores visual art practices that shed light on planetary processes and concerns. Such artistic practices may operate on the margins of the typical systems of art production and exchange. These practices may employ art as a conduit to engage with environmental issues including regenerative living, habitat loss and degradation, climate breakdown, biodiversity, adaptation, and more.

This program investigates the confluence of ethics and aesthetics in search of alternative structures to raise cultural and political awareness of urgent environmental issues.

Participants will explore how artistic practice can change in relation to our shifting and evolving sense of self in today’s world. They will also reflect on the communities with which we identify, participate, and create – as well as the vital cultural significance of human connection through land, the outdoors, story, culture and art.
