West Cliff Green ‘Bournemouth Inspires’ Sculpture - Commission for BCP Council’s Public Art Interventions Programme

We are looking to appoint an established artist to produce a sculpture for West Cliff Green (also known as West Cliff Gardens) on West Cliff Clifftop.

The sculpture should themed on ‘Bournemouth inspires…’, intriguing viewers with its story and representing the local area.

This artwork should be developed through engagement with the local community and the natural landscape should be enhanced with a piece that is of high artistic quality and showcases people and place.

We can accommodate proposals of up to £40,000.

Robert Louis Stevenson Sculpture - Commission for BCP Council’s Public Art Interventions Programme

We are looking to appoint an established artist to produce a sculpture for Alum Chine, celebrating its literary links with Robert Louis Stevenson and his work ‘Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde’ which he wrote whilst living in Westbourne.

The sculpture should be of high artistic quality, imaginatively represent the theme, enhance the Alum Chine seafront, and inspire viewers to seek to discover more about the literary heritage of the local area.

This is a open tender opportunity, welcoming proposals of no more than £34,000.

Arts by the Sea Festival, Open Call for Artists

Call for Artists 

The festival is inviting artists to apply to create a commission for the festival. Successful artist applicants will receive funding, publicity around their commission and support from the festival's production team and Creative Producer to realise their idea. This opportunity may be more suited to early career artists, though anybody residing in the UK is eligible to apply. We welcome proposals from artists who wish to develop an existing work.
