MORE THAN AI SANDBOX

Applications for More Than AI Sandbox  are open.

Watershed invites creative SMEs, artists, designers, technologists and creative practitioners to propose new and distinctive ideas that creatively and critically explore artificial intelligence.

More Than AI Sandbox is a programme to support makers to experiment creatively with AI, recognising it as one of many diverse intelligences in our world. Up to six teams will be commissioned to develop their ideas to prototype with an award of up to £45k each.

More Than AI Sandbox is part of the MyWorld Ideas Programme, and will take place Summer 2024 with a view to sharing prototypes Autumn 2024.

Sandbox Teams will receive:

  • A grant of up to £45,000.

PROTOCOGNITION

The Arts Exhibition and Performances organised by Bristol Art Gallery and Unconventional Computing Lab UWE Bristol.

 

Protocognition refers to the ability of non-living creatures and substances without a nervous system to acquaint themselves with information, recognize stimulatory spaces, accumulate knowledge, and develop wisdom. It encompasses various processes such as sensing, decision mapping, learning, reasoning, believing, and even exhibiting emotional states through chemical and physical substrates.

 

ARS ARTIFICIALIS AI COMBINATORIAL ART EXHIBITION

Bristol Art Gallery opens a call for entries of art works created using DIY or off-the-shelf AI art generators for “Ars Artificialis” exhibition. The exhibition is inspired by the father of the Artificial Intelligence, Catalonian philosopher Ramon Llull (1232–1316), who “succeeded in creating a universal science, based on the algebraic notation of its basic concepts and their combination by means of mechanical figures” [1]. There is no submission fee and selected entries will be exhibited at the virtual exhibition for free. Entries selected for physical exhibition at will attract printing fees.

The world's longest running exhibition welcomes submissions from new, emerging and established photographers, of any age and working in any subject or genre. 

A prize fund will be awarded to standout entrants, including an Under 30s Award, and selected photographers will also be featured in the award-winning RPS Journal.

We are looking for a variety of artists, creative makers & curators to take over 5 spaces in this shopping centre. We can offer short-term Project Spaces or longer-term studio, exhibition or public-facing uses.

The space is provided for free* in return for the commitment to use the space fully & organising some public-facing events as part of your occupation. We are committed to supporting creative practitioners who are most in need of space, prioritising support for those who are struggling due to the pandemic or best consider the local community in their applications.

Ad Infinitum is inviting applications from artists to collaborate on our latest project exploring the elderly care system in the UK. We’re looking for an artist who has experience in podcast making; and a visual artist / designer / photographer.
