Applicants must be BRISTOL UK BASED: this job will not be possible by remote working.

Scarlet Oak Theatre are looking for a Bristol based musician/composer to join us for the creation period of a new family Christmas/Winter Show in 2025 in Bristol. We need our musician to join us for R&D creation rehearsals in April/May 2025 followed by a preview show. There will be a further rehearsal / music tweaking period in October 2025 before the show starts to tour in November/December 2025.

Open Call for Photography Festival Exhibition and Magazine Feature

In collaboration with Hapax Magazine, Bristol Photo Festival is holding an open-call for new photographic projects.
Artists and photographers are invited to submit a body of work, which may be in progress and not yet published or exhibited. A shortlist of selected projects will be screened throughout the evening of November 16 at the Bristol Photo Festival closing party at Lost and Grounded Taproom, Bristol.
The winner, to be announced at the end of the night, will be supported to develop a solo exhibition to be presented at Bristol Photo Festival 2026 and a concurrent feature in Hapax Magazine. MORE THAN AI SANDBOX

Applications for More Than AI Sandbox  are open.

Watershed invites creative SMEs, artists, designers, technologists and creative practitioners to propose new and distinctive ideas that creatively and critically explore artificial intelligence.

More Than AI Sandbox is a programme to support makers to experiment creatively with AI, recognising it as one of many diverse intelligences in our world. Up to six teams will be commissioned to develop their ideas to prototype with an award of up to £45k each.

More Than AI Sandbox is part of the MyWorld Ideas Programme, and will take place Summer 2024 with a view to sharing prototypes Autumn 2024.

Sandbox Teams will receive:

  • A grant of up to £45,000.

PROTOCOGNITION

The Arts Exhibition and Performances organised by Bristol Art Gallery and Unconventional Computing Lab UWE Bristol.

 

Protocognition refers to the ability of non-living creatures and substances without a nervous system to acquaint themselves with information, recognize stimulatory spaces, accumulate knowledge, and develop wisdom. It encompasses various processes such as sensing, decision mapping, learning, reasoning, believing, and even exhibiting emotional states through chemical and physical substrates.
