Gender – Fluid: Evolving Identities Chiangmai artist residency

Studio 88 is now calling for applications from artists in any discipline who are inspired by the topic of Gender – Fluid, for a residency in Chiangmai, 13 May to 9 June 2024. Apply by 15 December 2023. 

We invite artists from anywhere in the world to explore the concept of gender fluidity. In a world where our understanding of gender is evolving, we aim to provide a platform for artists to express their perspectives, challenge norms, and celebrate the diversity of gender identities.

Reviving Nature: Pollution Alert Artist Residency 2024

Studio 88 is now calling for applications from artists in any discipline who address the challenge of pollution, for a residency in Chiangmai, 11 February to 10 March 2024. Apply by 20 August 2023.

We invite artists from anywhere in the world to shed light on one of the most pressing issues of our time: pollution. Through unique artistic expressions, we seek to raise awareness, provoke dialogue, and inspire meaningful change regarding the detrimental impact of pollution on our planet and its inhabitants. This open call aims to harness the creative force of artists to bring pollution to the forefront of public consciousness and mobilise action towards a sustainable future.

The AiR We Breathe residency in Chiang Mai

Studio 88 Artist Residency is calling for visual artists to apply for a special residency on the theme “The AiR We Breathe”, to be part of the Art for Air Festival 2023 in Chiangmai.

The 4-week programme in our residency space in Doi Saket, 30 minutes from the centre of ChiangMai, explores the topic of air quality. The residency, with a select group of international and Thai artists, is facilitated by locally based arts manager and Studio 88 founder Sasiwimon Wongjarin (Aom).

There will be a welcome dinner, two studio visits and a catered public event, which will be held as part of the Art for Air Festival 2023 in Chiangmai in June 2023. This is the second part of this special call.

ComPeung Artist Residency | Call for Applications 2020

ComPeung, Thailand’s longest ongoing artist-in-residency program since 2007, is seeking applicants for 2020.

ComPeung is the ideal place to immerse yourself in creative exploration, as you are surrounded by nature and the unique culture and landscape of Northern Thailand. Living in a slow and thoughtful environment, you will have the opportunity to focus deeply on your work and ample space to test its boundaries. 

Residency in our supportive artist-run community is available from June 2020 into 2021. Interested artists with an established practice in any creative discipline may apply now for residencies ranging from one to three months.
