To mark the 100th birthday of Joseph Beuys and to honour the town twinning between Poland’s capital Warsaw and the state capital Düsseldorf, we are pleased to invite two professional artists based in Warsaw to attend a 14-day research residency in Düsseldorf, preferably in July 2021. There is no age restriction. The submission of a research project proposal on the work of Joseph Beuys is required. During the stay, it is recommended to benefit from the extensive programme of the anniversary year, listed at beuys2021.de.

The selected artists are awarded a one-time scholarship of 500 euros each. Travel costs are covered and accommodation (one-room apartment) is provided.

Please send your research project proposal and portfolio via WeTransfer by April 25, 2021. The two finalists will be announced two weeks later on May 9, 2021.

The Beuys Research Grant is a joint project between the Cultural Office of the State Capital Düsseldorf, Polish Institute Düsseldorf, and Curated Affairs.

Prize summary: 
500 Euro per artist. Travel costs and acommodation are covered.
