The BIG Picture: Large Works Competition

The Art League of Long Island is thinking BIG with its second juried exhibition of large works, titled “The Big Picture”, set to take place March 7 to April 24. Artists from Suffolk, Nassau, Brooklyn, and Queens are invited to submit applications to show their large works in the Art League's spacious Jeanie Tengelsen Gallery. The submission deadline is February 7, 2020.  Exhibition juror Charles A. Riley, Ph.D., Director of the Nassau County Museum of Art will select the participating artists and artist awards.  

This Land is Our Land

Call for Fine Art Photographers: “This Land is Our Land” Exhibition at the Art League of Long Island

Photographers from the NY Tri-State area, including amateur and practicing photographers, are invited to submit applications to participate in the Art League of Long Island’s upcoming juried photo exhibition titled “This Land is Our Land”.  The exhibit is scheduled to be on display January 11 through February 8, 2020 in the Art League’s spacious Jeanie Tengelsen Gallery.  The deadline to submit applications is Friday, December 6, 2019.

The Resident Artist Membership is an opportunity for 6 Long Island Based visual and interdisciplinary artists to develop their craft at the Art League of Long Island. Become a leader in a creative community that has thrived for over 60 years!

Utilize our state of the art studios, and extensive offerings of classes to expand your skill set. This is a great opportunity for those artists who are interested in finding mentorship, learning a new medium, and developing the skills and confidence to teach! The Artist Residency Membership will culminate in the opportunity to teach a One Day Workshop that is open to the general public.

The concept of diversity encompasses acceptance and respect. It means understanding that each individual is unique, and recognizing our individual differences. These can be along the dimensions of race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, socio-economic status, age, physical abilities, religious beliefs, political beliefs, or other ideologies. 

59th Long Island Artists Exhibition

The Art League of Long Island invites artists from Suffolk, Nassau, Brooklyn, and Queens to submit entries to the upcoming juried exhibit featuring works by artists who call the four counties of the island home.  The 59th Long Island Artists Exhibition is now a biennial exhibit and will be on view in the Art League’s spacious Jeanie Tengelsen Gallery January 12 through February 10, 2019.   The deadline to submit applications is December 5, 2018.

Entry for each artist is limited to five works not previously exhibited in the Art League of Long Island’s gallery, one of which may be chosen from among submissions by the exhibition juror.  Two and three-dimensional work in any medium may be submitted, including photography and fine craft, with the exception of videos.
