Open Call for art installations

Visual arts festival Viljandi Tuled 2024 which is part of the European Capital of Culture Tartu 2024 programme is seeking art installations from artists around the world

As a result of this open call, one large-scale installation with funding up to €25,000 and up to three smaller installations with funding up to €2,000 each will be chosen; artist fee is included.

  • The inspirational theme for the installation is the “Arts of Survival”, which derives from the artistic concept of the European Capital of Culture Tartu 2024 (learn more: https://tartu2024.ee/arts-of-survival)

  • The installations will be exhibited at the festival Viljandi Tuled in February 2024 in Viljandi, Estonia

TYPA Artist in Residence

Description of the residency program

This unique residency will pair the unique resources of TYPA’s print museum and paper art studio with the academic research and pedagogical opportunities of Pallas University. Set in the city of Tartu, UNESCO’s Creative Cities of Literature 2019, and the upcoming European Capital of Culture 2024, the residency will provide artists with the time and space for new projects, work and research. The project seeks to promote an environment of reflection, community and play within an inspiring environment that supports innovative art practices.
