Open call for artists: Saari Residence 2021 is open

The Saari Residence, maintained by Helsinki-based Kone Foundation, is an international residence located in Mynämäki, Southwest Finland. It offers an excellent opportunity for artists of all disciplines and nationalities to focus undisturbed on creative work in the scenic surroundings of a rural manor house, as well the chance to interact with other residents.

Art Wall Project

Are you interested in implementing a mural onto a prominent location in the Art Town Mänttä-Vilppula? The application period for Serlachius Residency’s Art Wall project for the year 2021 is open until April 1st 2020.

In addition to the usual applications for the residency, applications will open for the four-month long Art Wall project, which will be implemented in collaboration with Art Town Mänttä-Vilppula and in cooperation with Housing Company Mäntän Mäntylinna.

During the project, a wall painting will be produced for the gable end of Mäntylinna block of flats. Located centrally along the access road to the heart of the town, the site forms a part of built cultural environment of national importance (RKY of the Finnish Heritage Agency) in Mänttä. 

 

Serlachius Residency

SERLACHIUS RESIDENCY

The Serlachius Residency is a guest studio, maintained by Gösta Serlachius Fine Arts Foundation, for professionals of the creative sector working in the visual arts. The Serlachius Residency was established in 2015 in cooperation the Mänttä Art Festival.

The residency provides a peaceful working environment. We produce for Art Town Mänttä-Vilppula small events that provide a forum for interaction between the public and residency guests. There is free admission to all residency events. We do not charge our guests rent for accommodation or working spaces.

The 17th International Sculpture Symposium in Finnish Lapland

Arctic Art Week Symposium has brought international artists together since 2003 in order to create new sculptures or other art works in the area of Kakslauttanen Arctic Resort. There are already more than 180 art works to be found around the Kakslauttanen Resort, inside or outside.

Now, in 2020, we are again looking for fresh proposals and, specially, new participants!

The symposium rules:

Organizer: Kakslauttanen Arctic Resort, Saariselkä, Finnish Lapland, 250 km north from the Arctic Circle (40 km from Ivalo Airport).
