Call for Art: Outdoor Public Art - Sculptures Frankfort, KY

In partnership with the City of Frankfort, the Josephine Sculpture Park is seeking contemporary sculpture artworks for a 2 year outdoor public art exhibit. Frankfort Sculpture Trail is a curated exhibition of outdoor sculpture displayed throughout the heart of downtown Frankfort.

We encourage proposals that show creativity as well as a broad range of appeal to the general public.  We are looking for works that capture attention and engage the public. We encourage artwork that is whimsical, kinetic, vibrant, colorful, eye-catching, sound-making and/or physically interactive in some way, including art that you can sit on, climb into, photograph yourself inside, etc. 

Request for Qualifications: Outdoor Public Art Mural Frankfort, KY

In partnership with the City of Frankfort, Josephine Sculpture Park is seeking a mural artist or artist team to design and install a publicly viewable mural on a private building exterior located in Second Street Corridor, between historic downtown Frankfort and the Capitol. JSP is seeking a mural that celebrates diversity, equity and inclusion that is inspired by and celebrates local history, specifically the 1964 March on Frankfort and Frankfort’s role in the KY civil rights movement. The mural must be installed between May- June, 2023 and the all-inclusive budget for the mural is up to $13,000. More information and the application are found on the CaFÉ (callforentry) website.

The Josephine Sculpture Park and FrankArts are seeking contemporary public artworks for a 2 year outdoor exhibit. Frankfort Sculpture Trail is a curated exhibition of sculpture displayed throughout the heart of downtown Frankfort. Sculptures will be placed in both city spaces/sidewalks as well as in public parks and walking trails.

We encourage proposals that show creativity as well as a broad range of appeal to the general public.  We are looking for works that capture attention and engage the public. We encourage artwork that is whimsical, kinetic, eye-catching, sound-making and/or physically interactive in some way, including art that you can sit on, climb into, photograph yourself inside, etc. 

Request for Qualifications: Public Art Mural Frankfort, KY

The Franklin County Arts Council is seeking a qualified mural artist or artist team to create and install a publicly viewable mural on the East facing wall of Broadway Clay Building located at 223 W. Broadway in historic downtown Frankfort, Kentucky. There is no specific theme for this mural; however, the design should fit the location. Interactive murals that allow the public to engage with the work and present photo opportunities are of particular interest, as are those using trompe l'oeil techniques.
