Resonance, residency at CERN for Geneva-based artists

Resonance invites artists based in Geneva to expand their practice in connection with physics by engaging in meaningful dialogue with CERN’s scientists, engineers, and staff.

Organised through an annual open call, Resonance offers a two-month, fully-funded residency at CERN.

The selected artist or collective will immerse themselves in CERN’s dynamic environment to develop their proposal, supported by a tailored programme designed by Arts at CERN’s team. Following the residency, artists will create new work inspired by CERN’s research and their exchanges with its community.

Resonance targets Geneva-based artists who work at the intersection of art and science. The annual call invites proposals that present compelling visions for engaging with CERN’s singular research, community, and technologies, alongside its opportunities for cultural engagement.

Collide Copenhagen, fully funded residency at CERN and Copenhagen Contemporary

Artists and collectives from any country are invited to submit a proposal for a fully-funded, two-month residency split between CERN and Copenhagen Contemporary

Collide is Arts at CERN's annual residency programme for artists with a distinct interest in science and technology, who have a strong motivation to engage in dialogue with scientists and engineers.

Connect: three-month residency at CERN

Arts at CERN and the Swiss Arts Council Pro Helvetia welcome proposals for Connect, an annual residency programme for artists with distinct interest in an interdisciplinary approach and strong motivation for learning more about the modes of scientific thinking and fundamental science. The goal of the residency is to invite Swiss artists to immerse themselves in the Laboratory’s community and to engage in close dialogue with scientists, engineers, and staff at CERN.

Minimum 14 artworks will be selected for 2-months exhibition at Hilton Geneva. Multiple artworks from one artist can be accepted

1st Place: 1-night stay at the hotel for 2 with breakfast, 200$

2nd Place: 1-night stay at the hotel for 2 with breakfast, 100$

3rd Place: 1-night stay at the hotel for 2 with breakfast

Hotel vouchers valid for 1 year, subject to room availability

Other prizes: Merit Awards - free entry, certificates of participation, all accepted artworks will participate in an online exhibition, features on social media, interview articles. Accepting sculptures, ceramics, photography, 2D works in any medium & style.
