"Colorful" the virtual exhibition

"Colorful" the virtual exhibition.

Worldwide Artist Open call

Color, a collaboration between the eye and the brain, translates light, resulting in a rainbow of hues we name and categorize. Apples are red, the sky is blue and grass is green–and though we happily label the color of these objects, our individual experiences of these colors vary from that of our neighbor.
We expect from you the most unexpected color combinations and color fantasies. Both abstract and figurative!

Guest Room: Varun Gupta

Guest Room aims to spark collaboration. Varun Gupta, Director of the Chennai Photo Biennale in India, is teaming up with one of his personal mentors, Arpan Mukherjee. He is one of the nation's leading researchers of historical photography processes and co-founded Studio Goppo, a photography research studio. Together, Varun Gupta and Arpan Mukherjee have developed the following theme for your submissions: "Metamorphosis".

About the Goddessarts Magazine:

Der Greif - Issue 16 by Shirin Neshat

We are excited to announce Shirin Neshat as the guest editor for Issue #16. Shirin Neshat invites you to submit work that responds to a line from the poem “Common Love” by Persian poet Ahmad Shamlou.

Shirin Neshat writes:

“I often use poetry as a starting point for inspiration and Ahmad Shamlou’s poem, "Common Love,” deeply resonates with me and speaks about our shared humanity.

We all grapple with grief and trauma, both on an individual and collective level, but with this common ground, we feel less alone. This is human nature: we see and feel that others experience similar struggles therefore we feel bonded and hopeful.

Guest Room: Bindi Vora

Guest Room aims to spark collaboration. Bindi Vora, photographic artist, associate lecturer at LCC, and curator at Autograph London, along with Justine Ellis, photographer and co-director of Perimeter Books, have decided to join forces. Together, they are currently working on Bindi Vora's upcoming book "Mountain of Salt".

To guide the submissions for their Guest Room, Bindi Vora and Justine Ellis ask you to send through a word accompanying each image, following the unique framework: "A picture is worth a thousand words but maybe it only needs one."

PICTURE BERLIN Summer Session 2023

Storytelling is a cultural exploration of narrative sharing that very often includes not only embellishment but improvisation. Artists use wide ranging materiality to explore their stories. Often the materiality harnesses their senses in a multitude of ways. PICTURE BERLIN’s Summer Session 2023 will explore storytelling from various vantage points harnessing the senses offering insight into how Berlin based artists and creatives use and access their wider environments both within themselves but also within the city.
