ARTWORKS FROM THE TWILIGHT. Drifting between dream and nightmare, desire and drama.

Friday - Sunday, June 18-20, 2021

MOON ART FAIR HAMBURG is an international, curated art fair founded in 2020 that focuses on curatorial balance and integrity across all disciplines of contemporary art. MAF innovates the standard fair model by creating a hybrid concept selecting a curatorial team to identify, and curate a selection of galleries, artist-run exhibition spaces, and non-profit institutions and organizations, in dialogue with an architecturally designed venue:

TheWestin Hamburg/ Elbphilharmonie Hamburg, Germany

Deadline: 15th February, 2021 23:59 (Germany)

It has been more than a year since the outbreak of the COVID-19, the world seems to be more fractured than ever. It has made inequalities and divides more visible, privileged still enjoy their privileges, while crises of economies, the environment, mental health, political suppression and violence are exacerbated in the shadow of the pandemic. How does art position itself under these contexts, while artist are both privileged and precarious?

At the beginning of 2021, we are thrilled to introduce you to the Window Project // Fenster-Projekt. Throughout the better part of 2020, we experienced the closure of cultural venues. Community projects and events became abruptly impossible, — then, the ability to experience diverse art and culture through exhibition and performance spaces became likewise impossible. Now, we are adjusting and adapting to the new realities of the pandemic world.

Window Project // Fenster-Projekt is a bi-weekly exhibition of both Berlin-based and transcultural artists. Each artist will have their work solo-exhibited in the large store-front style windows of Prenzlauer Studio for two weeks. Passer by can view a varied display of artists’ voices and media. Every two weeks we offer a new exhibition, which can be enjoyed safely outside, at any time, at a distance, in a pandemic-safe manner.

In this open call, we welcome all kind of medium. We do not have a fixed theme but we are especially welcome artworks related to mental health, racism and politics. There is no application fee, and we will cover the expense of installation and printing, if necessary. We especially welcome applications from artists identifying as POC / LGBTQ+ and artists who identify with displacement, diaspora and dislocation. Please share only as much of your identity as you are comfortable in your application!

*Applicants can be either based in Berlin or elsewhere. Feel free to contact us if you have any inquiries, and we are looking forward to receiving your application!

Green Hill Gallery is pleased to announce the open call for the new exhibition on the topic of identity, connectivity and community. This exhibition wants to be a journey in the discovery of what identity means nowadays and how it can be influenced by changes, as well as by the way one connects with oneself, others and the outside world. It challenges artists to explore the confrontation between showing oneself to oneself and showing oneself to others.

We invite emerging and established artists working in any medium from Berlin and from all over the world to participate in this call, as long as the topic is explored through the artwork. Please be aware that, since the Green Hill Gallery is run by the non-profit organization Kulturschöpfer e.V., accepted artists living outside Berlin will have to take care of the transportation of their artworks.

The exhibition will be displayed in our Green Hill Gallery and will be part of our diverse identity project. The project will entail additional events to explore the concept of identity and connectivity from different perspectives (online and/or offline, depending on the Coronavirus regulations).
