Linger an exhibition of Sitting Places

16 May – 9 September 2020

Following on from the hugely successful summer 2019 Art Unbound exhibition, the Rococo Garden, in Painswick, Gloucestershire, is staging ‘Linger’ – an exhibition of ‘sitting places’ – for summer 2020. We are putting a call out to artists, designer-makers and artisans for imaginative approaches to the creation of garden seating. The work will complement the spirit of the Garden and encourage appreciation of its character. As such ‘Linger’ will be an invitation for visitors to take the weight off their feet and while away time as they soak up the beauty of their surroundings.

Material Flow Exhibition

Artists are invited to respond in their own way to selected artefacts connected to the famous Stroud cloth and its historical narratives. The subject areas encompass materiality, landscape, human and nonhuman relations, industrial developments, local and global trade and colonial networks.

The call out welcomes 2-D and 3-D work including textile art, painting, illustration, photography, movie image and installation media and is open to artists wherever based.

The Material Flow exhibition will be held between the 31st of August and the 22nd of September in Gallery One of the delightful Museum in the Park, Stroud
