SIILK GALLERY - ATHENS RESIDENCY OPEN CALL

We here at SIILK GALLERY are looking for photographers from all walks of life around the world for our 2021/22 residency program.

With the success of our current gallery throughout 2019/20 we have launched a new exhibition space in 2021 in the Athens artists quarter, Metaxourgeio. This has given us the opportunity to transform the upper spaces above the gallery into a residency space, self contained studio and exhibition space.

The residency will consist of a 4 week running program with accommodation where you can live and work from the space in Athens, Greece. Use the mezzanine level of the gallery for a show for the 4 weeks or use it like an open studio, run workshops, talks, utilize the space in whichever ways you want.

SIILK GALLERY - ATHENS OPEN CALL

WE ARE SIILK GALLERY.

WE GIVE EXPOSURE TO INTERNATIONAL PHOTOGRAPHERS WHO ARE UNDER-REPRESENTED WITHIN THE TRADITIONAL SYSTEM. WE CURATE, INTERVIEW AND SHOWCASE PHOTOGRAPHERS FROM AROUND THE WORLD AT OUR SPACE IN ATHENS, GREECE & HERE, OUR ONLINE PUBLICATION.

We aim to exhibit influential and controversial emerging visual artists who belong to underground / alternative scenes from cities around the world that produce their art independently. We look for talents whose attitude and lifestyle inform their technique and work. We want our audiences to be exposed to beautiful and meaningful imagery.

OPEN CALL FOR OUR FESTIVAL 2021

Our Festival was created by the collective cultural group “WE”, which grew out of a lively and dynamic community of artists who have presented their work at the festival and each year organize the event.

The group’s shared vision is to bring together a variety of artists from different backgrounds and from these creative and collaborative encounters, to forge long-lasting cross-cultural relationships.

Our Festival works with liminal to make all events accessible and collaborates with disabled artists in order to promote inclusion and ensure the equal participation of all to the cultural life of the community.
