wysiwyg x First Cut / Open Call: Short films on Re-enactment

First Cut has been invited by wysiwyg to co-curate an evening of screenings under the Glued & Screwed programme at Filmhuis Den Haag.

We are seeking short films that work in, or utilise the topic of re-enactment. We see re-enactment as a means to revisit, reformulate and reimagine. Re-enactment opens up reflections around documentary and fiction, or the embodied and the faux.

We call for diverse interpretations on what it means to re-enact through film, and welcome films that stem from socio-political inquiries. Selected films will receive a screening fee for the event.

Submit your film via the Google form until 23rd February 23:59.

ESC OPEN CALL — YYYYMMDD + VVOVVA

The ESC open call is on! For the last time this year, contemporary gallery VVOVVA invites you to join the wave #2031 Autumn/Winter. Aiming to build the future together we ask artists to ‘Create art as you would do in 10 years in the future.’ We peek into distant and unreachable concepts of the world, humanity, nature, and technology.

ESC Open Call - 1646 + VVOVVA

The second wave of the ESC open call is here!

While looking forward to a more and more digitalized world VVOVVA asks artists to ‘Create art as you would do in 10 years in the future’.

The aim of the ESC challenge is to investigate the future and, in particular, the bond of nature and technology through art. As well as its relation to us as humans, how it forms our perception and views.

For this escape edition, VVOVVA will select the most interesting works in collaboration with 1646’s team of curators, Clara Pallí Monguilod & Johan Gustavsson.

ESC Open Call

* UPDATE: the deadline is extended to August 25!

ESC — is an online exhibition that traps your view and mind
in the future, to be precise in 10 years. Primary the ESC is a challenge that aims to reflect the dreams and expectations of the artists. In particular, this is a study of each particular individual connection with the environment, experience, and knowledge. A thought on something unexplored: in another time, in an unknown space, with an unknown audience. We propose the freedom to explore something new!

It is our revolution, an answer to the contemporary design and art scenes… in 10 years from now. It is an escape from reality, a time machine if you will.
