Call for Mural Artists! CRE8IV Transformational Art

The Rockford Area Convention & Visitors Bureau (RACVB) organizes the CRE8IV Transformational Art initiative and is currently looking to produce murals throughout the Rockford, IL region. RACVB is soliciting artists with mural experience to produce large-scale works of art on exterior walls Spring/Summer 2023.

Since the programs inception in 2017, CRE8IV has produced 32 murals to date.

University of Illinois Art in Architecture at Freer Hall

Freer Hall was built in 1930.  A major north addition was added in 1968.  The recent Freer Hall renovation occurred in the north addition area (approximately 19,780 square feet) to provide state of the art research laboratories, faculty and graduate student offices, seminar rooms, and support spaces for the Department of Kinesiology and Community Health and College of Applied Health Sciences.  Included in this renovation project was the infill of the existing swimming pool and build out of new research, teaching, and office space within the existing swimming pool area.

13th Regional Juried Exhibition

Artists who live and work in Illinois, Iowa and Wisconsin are eligible to submit works of art they have created within the past two years.

This annual juried art show features art by emerging and established artists from the tri-state region and it builds momentum each year. A wide variety of media is accepted from traditional materials such as painting and sculpture to conceptual and new media techniques including video, interactive media, performance and installation art.
