13th Regional Juried Exhibition

Artists who live and work in Illinois, Iowa and Wisconsin are eligible to submit works of art they have created within the past two years.

This annual juried art show features art by emerging and established artists from the tri-state region and it builds momentum each year. A wide variety of media is accepted from traditional materials such as painting and sculpture to conceptual and new media techniques including video, interactive media, performance and installation art.

The juror is Sergio Gomez, a Chicago based visual artist and creative entrepreneur. He received a Master of Fine Arts degree from Northern Illinois University. Sergio’s work has been subject of solo exhibitions in the United States, Italy and Vienna. He has participated in numerous group exhibitions in Spain, Sweden, London, Mexico and the US. His work can be found in private and public collections of the National Museum of Mexican Art, Brauer Art Museum, and the MIIT Museo Internazionale Italia Arte among other public and private collections. Currently, Sergio Gomez is the owner & director of 33 Contemporary Gallery, Curator/Director of Exhibitions at the Zhou B. Art Center, contributor for Italia Arte Magazine, Art/Design faculty at South Suburban College, Creative Consultant for Idea Seat Marketing and Advertising, co-founder of 3c Wear and co-funder of the Art NXT Level Program. His weekly Artist Next Level podcast inspires and educates contemporary artists. Sergio has curated special projects for the Chicago Park District, ArtSpot Miami International Art Fair during Art Basel Week (2013, 2014), National Museum of Mexican Art, and ExpoChicago (2014) among others.

WIU Art Gallery’ 2017-18 Season

The Western Illinois University Art Gallery is currently accepting exhibition proposals for the 2017-2018 school year.

Located in Macomb, Illinois, the Gallery presents a schedule of changing exhibitions throughout the academic year to introduce WIU students, faculty and staff, as well as the western Illinois region, to a variety of art forms in a wide range of mediums.

We encourage visual artists to submit exhibition proposals for solo, two-person, and group exhibitions.

The University Art Gallery will provide accepted artists with a reasonable stipend to assist with travel, mileage reimbursement or shipping expenses, depending on needs and circumstances. In addition, the Department of Art may offer an honorarium to select artists to help cover expenses associated with a Visiting Artist workshop on campus.

Your exhibition proposal must include:

  1. CV
  2. Artist statement
  3. Exhibition thesis and description of proposed exhibition
  4. 15-20 images labeled with title, size, date, and medium

Dominican University’ 3rd Interfaith Biennial Exhibition

Dominican University, River Forest, IL, is pleased to announce its third Interfaith Biennial Exhibition.

The University’s Interfaith Cooperation Committee is dedicated to representing a welcoming environment on campus for a diverse array of faith and value-based beliefs in many aspects, including that of the visual arts.

The Interfaith Biennial is a juried exhibition that will represent works of art from multiple disciplines that comment on the theme of Love and Truth: an expression of Interfaith Diversity. The exhibition will remain on display with proper documentation in a prominent location on Dominican’s campus for approximately two years, August 2016 – June 2018 (opening reception to be announced).
