Pigeon Review Flash Fiction Competition

Pigeon Review is one year old! The idea for Pigeon Review was sparked on a park bench in the Spring of 2021 inspired by the quirky, resourceful, beautiful, and often overlooked little creatures wandering around us. We felt camaraderie in that way with our feathered friends. We knew we couldn't be the only ones who felt this way; quirky, resourceful, creative, and overlooked, trying to break barriers by flying headfirst into them.

We set out to be a place for stories and art that evoke a sense a place; pieces that may have been overlooked for their simplicity or deemed mundane. Most of all, we set out to foster community. We wanted be a place that values its contributors and every person who submits; a place that promotes honesty and kindness.

CONNECT 5th Edition PASA Festival

PASA Festival is an annual event where various forms of artwork of both famous and undiscovered, domestic and international artists take place at various locations throughout Seoul. The festival is an opportunity for artists to share their philosophy with a global audience.

As we have all endured isolation during the COVID-19 Pandemic, PASA Festival is an opportunity for people to celebrate art and reconnect, for international artists to connect and to experiment the connection of art with the digital world.

“Summer” International Call - Art & Literature Journal - Deadline August 31, 2022

| Theme:

Summer of the soul, summer thunder, summer wine, summer fling, summer solstice. Summer represents a life phase of love, adventure and happiness. It’s a coming of age and a symbol of hope. The warmth of the summer sun softens our fears and worries. It’s a respite after a long, cold winter. It nurtures play and relaxation. And in it, nature becomes its most luxuriant. Share your literal, symbolic, or abstract interpretation of SUMMER.

| Eligible Submissions:

Call for Art-UNITY

Art Fluent invites artists worldwide to submit artwork to our online exhibit, UNITY.

THEME
The state of being united. Unity can show us a world through a different lens. Artists use it to visually tie together certain elements (color, line, shape, texture) within their composition. It gives us a feeling of cohesion where it connects these principles and helps us make sense of the work as complete - helping to deliver an understanding of harmony and balance. A piece would not be finished without it; how does your work communicate unity? Show us UNITY from your perspective.

CALENDAR
JPEGs due by Friday, September 9, 2022, at midnight MST.
Notification of acceptance and online gallery opening by Friday, October 7, 2022.

The Burlington Contemporary Art Writing Prize 2022

The Burlington Contemporary Art Writing Prize seeks to discover talented writers on contemporary art. Since its foundation in 1903 The Burlington Magazine has considered the art of the present to be as worthy of study as the art of the past. The Burlington Contemporary Art Writing Prize advances our commitment to the study of contemporary art in the magazine and on Burlington Contemporary.

Designed to encourage aspiring writers, the Prize promotes clear, concise and well-structured writing that is able to navigate sophisticated ideas without recourse to over-complex language. For submission criteria, please visit: https://contemporary.burlington.org.uk/writing_prize.

This year the Prize will be judged by Griselda Pollock and Legacy Russell.
