OPEN CALL 2023 | Annual Grant Residency Program ZARATAN AIR

DEADLINE | August 29 until September 30, 2022 (24H00)

ELIGIBILITY | Emerging and professional artists, performers, musicians, curators, writers and other cultural agents are eligible to apply. The residency program is designed for international artists - or national artists residing abroad - for the development of artistic projects, individual or collective. Zaratan defends a multidisciplinary and experimental attitude, where all the areas and the languages of the artistic expression are considered.

DURATION | 4 weeks

GRANT | Once a year Zaratan offers a 4 weeks residency grant, which covers the studio and accommodation fees for one artist selected through the applications process. THE CALL IS OPEN FROM 29th AUGUST TO 30th SEPTEMBER, 2022.

"Public Space": take part in a photography exhibition in Lisbon!

Streets, squares, parks, beaches, forest paths, the public space can take many different forms, but mostly refers to the same basic criteria: it’s a place that is open, free and accessible to its inhabitants, allowing their free movement and expression. A place which provides people opportunities to come together and engage with the community.

But over the last few years, significant changes in society have been challenging this concept. The introduction of cars, shopping malls, surveillance cameras among other things have led to a growing privatization of the space. The border between public and private is not always clear and private companies are progressively taking responsibilities that used to belong to the public domain.

The residency program is designed for international or Portuguese artists residing abroad for the development of artistic projects, individual or collective. Zaratan defends a multidisciplinary and experimental attitude, where all the areas and the languages of the artistic expression are considered. 

DURATION | Minimum 4 weeks - Maximum 12 weeks.

OPEN CALL: Video Dance Showcase

27th Quinzena de Dança de Almada - International Dance Festival | September/October 2019

Professional individual choreographers, dance companies and video directors are welcome to submit their projects to be presented in the "Video Dance Showcase", to be held between September 21 and October 13, 2019.

February 18, 2019 is the deadline for submission of proposals. The selection board will decide on the selected projects until April 15, 2019.
