Filled Up: A Ceramic Cup Show

FILLED UP A Ceramic Cup Show Prospectus The cup, one of ceramics more iconic images, has been used as a metaphor, a sculptural element, a sculptural foundation and a functional daily piece of dinnerware. The New Harmony Clay Project in cooperation with the New Harmony Gallery of Contemporary Art (NHGCA), a University of Southern Indiana division of outreach and engagement, is now accepting entries for its first annual juried cup show set to be exhibited in historic New Harmony, IN, at the NHGCA, December 5, 2020-January 22, 2021. Whether you choose to fill your cups with beverages, food, pencils, or ideology, this exhibition will feature over 100 handmade creations from artists across the country.

Collective Cure

Contemporary art is often birthed from our response to current events. In this time of social distancing, many of us have experienced grief for the life we once had as we struggle to find our new normal. We are all undergoing unique experiences; however, the common denominator is that we are all looking for ways to keep marching on.

Collective Cure will be a collection of works responding to the global pandemic, COVID-19. This exhibition will focus on how we as a collective whole will adapt to the world post quarantine, with an emphasis on coping with this crisis and moving forward.

This exhibition will be juried by a panel of artists from the staff of Historic New Harmony: Tabatha Chinn, Tonya Lance, and Daniel Mason.
