Ripples Open Call

——— THEMES ———

We are products of our environment, shaped by the countless influences that surround us. Our actions, like ripples on the surface of a pond, extend far beyond their initial point of origin. From the habits we adopt to the sayings we share, every interaction leaves an expanding mark on the world. A ripple is transient, but its effects continue in a way that cannot easily be traced back to the source. Ripples dives into the interconnectedness of human experience, unveiling the subtle threads that bind us together.

F11: Digital Paintings for Full Screen

Derfner Judaica Museum + The Art Collection invites artists to submit work for an upcoming virtual exhibition, “F11: Digital Paintings for Full Screen.” Submissions should be digital paintings on any theme intended to be viewed exclusively in a virtual space. "F11" refers to the function key that opens full screen viewing in most internet browsers. In the Covid era when many art spaces are closed or open at limited capacity, online exhibitions have become ubiquitous. Such exhibitions have utilized diverse platforms to display physical artwork that would normally be seen in-person at art fairs, museums and galleries. "F11" inverts this practice: It features art created to be viewed exclusively in a digital format and exhibited virtually.
