In Full Bloom

J. Mane Gallery invites submissions for its In Full Bloom botanical and floral online juried art exhibition.

Throughout the history of art, certain subjects have resonated particularly strongly with artists and audiences alike. Trends reveal art's most popular muses, with flowers at the forefront.

Rooted in ancient art and still prevalent today, depictions of blossoms, blooms, and other botanical elements can be found in many of the most significant art movements, whether carved into clay or starring in a still-life.

International Art Competition “Colors”

Contemporary Art Room Gallery is proud to announce their 2nd “Colors” Online Art Competition for the month of September 2019. This is an international competition and artists from around the world are welcome to submit their work. In this open subject competition the theme is concentration of color. Artworks with either one  or a multitude of colors will be accepted. A variety of interpretations of Colors theme can be submitted (representative, abstract, conceptional...). All visual art mediums are acceptable (painting, photography, drawing, sculpture, digital, prints, fiber art, collage or installation art) except sound and video art.

PORTALS

PORTALS:

There was a popular and silly song in the 1950's, "Close the Doors, They're Coming in the Windows".  What about those doors and windows and arches and frames and tunnels?  There are so many ways to capture them:  looking at them, or through them.  We can poke our hand out the window to test the weather, or just see a wonderful scene a little differently when framed by an arch or array of tree limbs in a park.

For this call your images can focus on the "portal" itself like a closed door or a wonderful windowsill or the view through the portal to the other side. Does it frame the main subject of the photograph or does it add another dimension, such as the distortions of old glass or reflections in windowpanes.
