Call for Art | Games We Play | Online Exhibition

Gallery Omata announces a call to artists for an online exhibition.

When we see the play bow of our canine companions or hear the urging of children to 'come & play' we are reminded to let go of our serious side for a time and let loose. For this exhbition we are giving you permission to ‘go play’ and free your imagination to express itself with creative abandon.

Each artist compels the viewer to feel the moment just as they themselves do sharing in the pure joy of expression. Simple choices such as a colourful colour palette transform a serious subject into a lighthearted one. Lifting the spirits in the process.

Call for Art | In My View | Online Exhibition

Gallery Omata announces a call to artists for an online exhibition.

The tradition of capturing still life compositions stretches back through the centuries. Artists know they are in the company of the great masters when they embark on creating a work of art depicting inanimate objects.

The focused study of an object in order to capture it in any media takes intense concentration. Every shape, each curve, line and shadow permits the artist a fresh moment in time to consider how they will interpret what they see. The outcome can feel like a magical experience when the form comes to life.

Inside a Memory

Visionary Art Collective is a contemporary art & artist development company based in New York City. Our mission is to uplift artists through magazine features, virtual exhibitions, podcast interviews, and our mentorship programs.

How do our memories and experiences impact our work? As artists, we often create as a tool for visual processing. In turn, our work becomes a culmination of all that we have experienced in our lives thus far. Our memories, dreams, and perceptions are woven into narratives that are deeply personal and yet still universal. In this exhibition, we are seeking work that explores the connection between memory, experience, and perception, and how those elements inspire the creative process.

hyg·ge (pronunciation: hyoo-guh) noun

1. a quality of coziness and comfortable conviviality that engenders a feeling of contentment or wellbeing, evoked by simple comforts such as being wrapped in a blanket, having good conversations, enjoying food, etc.

2. a form of everyday togetherness; a pleasant and highly valued everyday experience of safety, equality, personal wholeness and a spontaneous social flow

We’ve all been there: trudging through snow, trying to shield our faces from wind so cold it hurts, questioning our lives and life itself.
