Uncover the spirit that drives everything we do. From digital to traditional and everything in between, our annual degree shows dynamically showcase work from the freshest in creative talent.

Highlighting work from students across the college’s undergraduate programmes, this summer’s Degree Shows, from Friday 8 to Thursday 21 June 2018, offer an exclusive window into life at an independent art school, and a chance to preview a new wave of makers ready to take over the creative industries.

Three buildings, four floors and more than 20 outstanding exhibition spaces full of inspirational thinking and making. We provide a space where people come together, explore new horizons, and push the boundaries of creative practice. It starts with the people who come here - the optimists, activists, makers and communicators.

With open doors across all our working studios, guests are invited to explore cutting-edge facilities such as Fab Lab Plymouth and our £8 million dedicated crafts workshops for ceramics, glass and metalwork. An eclectic range of mediums, both modern and traditional, will be exhibited across the college — including film, photography, fine art installation, fashion design, game arts, illustration, glassworks, ceramics, animation, 3D printing and so much more.

Can't make it to the show during the day? We will also be hosting a late night opening on Thursday 14 June, 5-8pm (last entry 7.30pm).

You can get involved too with artwork available to purchase, film screenings, and live presentations running throughout the show schedule.

If you're attending our opening night on Thursday 7 June (invite only) then they'll be the chance to see our unmissable Fashion Showcase, taking place in our maker space The Warehouse on 7 June at 8pm and our Media Showcase at Vue Cinema on 7 June at 4pm, both are invitation-only events, if you are interested in attending please email brand@pca.ac.ukfor more information.

Considering a course with us? Make sure to register for our official Open Day on Saturday 16 June, the perfect opportunity to connect with staff, alumni and preview the thrilling culmination of three years study here at our unique institute.

Entirely free, open to the public, and the highlight of the UK’s creative calendar. We can’t wait to celebrate with you!

A Good Age: Change in my Time – 5 craft commissions

Share

City:

Devon Guild of Craftsmen and Libraries Unlimited are seeking to commission five, UK based, professional older artists (born before 1948) to make new contemporary craft work responding to a theme of age and change within the artist’s lifetime. The commissioned works will be shown alongside craftwork made in local community workshops, in a celebratory exhibition ‘A Good Age’ at Devon Guild of Craftsmen in Autumn 2019.

Proposals to be in all disciplines of craft including photography, printmaking and sculpture.

Criteria: any UK based contemporary craft practitioner over the age of 70 (born before 1948).

To apply: By email - see below.

Fee £2,500 per commission.

Aim: to engage and support older people and as such these commissions are seen as an investment in older artists.  These commissions are given as an example of validation of the artist, and aim to have a positive impact on society’s approach to ageing, and to contribute to the desire to keep making into older age.
