quiet as it's kept

quiet as it’s kept is an exhibition of Black art of exceptional quality that explores the depths of the Black experience and reveals its complex roots. From landscapes to surrealism, from digital art to sculpture, from traditional to innovative — this show will demonstrate that Black art is as unique as Black people. We are healing by recognizing ourselves as art, as worthy of art, and as part of a global system of indelible artistic experience. Black people have always had a place in the art world, but the magic of our practice is only as quiet as we keep it. For this exhibition, we are quiet no more.

Twilight Year

This exhibition will feature works that will explore all of the aspects of Dark Art-- macabre and dark surreal-- in the works of contemporary female, non-binary and gender fluid artists. As we are approaching the final act of 2020, we are looking into the traditional and non-traditional interpretations of what Dark Art is and can be.

This Call is open to all Women Artists of all mediums and backgrounds, as well as gender fluid and non-binary artists.

Entry Fee: $20 for up to Four (4) artworks submitted, and $10 for each additional work, with a maximum of Six (6) works submitted per artist.
